A Tour of VW's Phaeton Plant in Dresden

Someone took a tour of VW's transparent Phaeton plant and brought back photos! The building is incredible, but what truly knocks me out is how clean everything is in this place! The folks are wearing white! It's totally not what I picture assembly plants to be.

Now With Easy To Understand Pop Culture References!

Thank you The Internet, for helping pop culture ignoramuses. Thanks to you, and your keen hyperlinking ability, and the way folks can access your keen hyperlinking ability, everyone can enjoy pop culture references. Witness Remote Possiblities, a rant on the missing remote from Apple's newest iPods. It doesn't get better than this: a link to an 80's comic book, a Twilight Zone character's autograph, and an episode recap of ABC's Lost.

Yours truly caught only the Lost reference, but thanks to the magic of you, The Internet, I now know:

  • Which issues of the "Kitty Pryde and Wolverine miniseries" are must-haves.
  • When I'm bad I'll be sent to the cornfields.
  • I can hide stashes of heroin in Virgin Mary statues for shipwrecked or planewrecked junkies to find.

What a country.

Nickel Creek: Greatest Britney Spears Cover Band

It was the first concert I've seen in ages. A friend had tickets to see Nickel Creek, and I hadn't seen her in a while so I agreed to go. I'd heard of Nickel Creek but other than the name I knew nothing about them. It turns out they're a progressive-pop-bluegrass group. The best song of the night, at first, was a cover of (Nice Dream) by Radiohead. I love Radiohead covers, with a few exceptions, and this one was good. It did fall apart a bit during the breakdown. They made up for that completely by covering Toxic by Britney Spears. Now, even Britney's version is pretty good, and I'm no fan of hers by any stretch. The cover by Nickel Creek was priceless. I'd like to have a tribute album from various artists to just this song. Wow. I hope it ends up on a bootleg somewhere, it was great!
